Masquer-Aide is a multifaceted community art event sponsored by Salt Valley Arts where folks get creative to support the Taylor Jacobson Art Scholarship Fund!
Taylor Jacobsen was a well loved Saline art educator. This scholarship was established by Saline Leadership Institute in his memory to provide access to art classes through Saline Area Social Services.
Mask Artwork Challenge | Due Friday, October 7, 2022
Make a Mask | To wear at the Reveal Party! Join us at Cake Eaters Meetings 10 AM Fridays till noon at the 109.
Reveal Party | Saturday October 22, 2022 from 7 to 9 pm at The 109 Cultural Exchange, Saline MI.
Take the challenge. Make a piece of art inspired by the word Mask (art piece does not need to be wearable). “Mask” art pieces may be made in any media or mixed media, 2-D or 3-D and should reflect your interpretation of the word “mask.” Paint it, sculpt it, weave it, pastel paint it, draw it, quilt it or do all of them in a mixed media piece.
Submit a Masquer-Aide Entry form along with payment of the $10 entry fee on our website https://www.saltvalleyarts.org/ or at a Cake Eaters meeting on Friday mornings (located at The 109 Cultural Exchange | 109 W Michigan Ave in Downtown Saline) or by mail to Salt Valley Arts | PO Box 588, Saline MI 48176.
All entry fees go to the Taylor Jacobson Art Scholarship fund at Saline the Saline Leadership Institute.
Make a mask to wear to the reveal party! Create a mask to wear to the Masquer-Aide Reveal Party, Halloween or just to surprise your friends. Work on your mask on your own or join others at our “open to all” Cake Eaters meeting on Fridays at 10:00 at The 109.
Come to the Masquer-Aide Reveal Party on Saturday October 22nd from 7 to 9pm at The 109 Cultural Exchange | 109 West Michigan Avenue in Downtown Saline (next to Benny’s).
